Is it just the centre that you've damaged, or the axles/housing too?

Any T series diff centre from another T18, or TA22/RA23/RA40 celica fits also, with a variety of ratios available.

Cheers
Phil

Cheers Phil
i think it may just be the center that i have blown, but im not sure coz i dont really know a whole heap
i want to get my diff welded but i dont really know whether i should coz i dont have alot of money to keep replacing the diff when it blows
i was told that if i weld my diff it will last longer????

If you weld your diff, the diff gears will last longer, but only because they can no longer turn.

Your axles on the other hand will be likely to cry mercy with a welded diff Mad . They're only little axles in the T diff, and twist like crazy on tight turns. Plus if you've driven a T18 with a locked diff, you'll realise that they are a complete PIG with massive feedback through the steering & chassis. Other cars with a locker have never felt as bad as my T18 was with various locked centres, and my car had all new urethane bushes etc.

ok so welding the diff is not adviseable
fair enough
seeing that you know what your talking about i will take your word for it
i was just gonna lock it so i could get the back end out abit easier as the t-18 is only stock at the moment
cheers for the help Phil

haha Very Happy I'm not sure I can agree with you there Razz

Others would say that lockers are fine, and I agree in most cases (with some driver care of course) but each chassis feels different with a welded diff, and the T18 is pretty far down the list as far as my opinion goes.

By all means try it out if you really want that tail-kicking action. It will be fun till you get sick of it every day. Smile
A turbo 4A will help get the ass end out though!
