As my W58 of a GA70 ages, these are the symptoms currently found:
- clutch pedal shudders while foot applies light tap on pedal
- whinning sound frm g/box while clutch pedal in nuetral position
- "crunchy" gear shifting. Hard to engage reverse.
- while shifting, longshaft "misses"
i'm wondering is there an upgrade for a W58? Exedy HDD mayb? I'm really new in g/boxes, pls spare me mates... Welcomes any feedback, advises.
ps:- what kinda gear oil suits d W58? Redline any good?

Sounds like your clutch is up for replacement, not the gearbox.

Thx norbie!! Just a few weeks ago i had the clutch pump replaced. It was the original GX60 pump. Any idea on which clutch kit that i can go for? I really want to extend the life of my W58......

Go to a clutch shop, tell them what you drive and how you drive it, and they will make you a suitable clutch.
