It's piss easy. It only gets difficult if you come across a stuck bolt, which is not uncommon on a 20yo car which has probably never had the diff removed.
1. Disconnect tailshaft from diff. 4x12mm bolts.
2. Disconnect driveshafts from diff. 4x14mm bolts each side.
3. Support diff with trolley jack.
4. Remove 17mm bolts holding diff to cradle. From memory there are 4 on each side and 4 on top.
5. Diff is now hanging from 2x19mm bolts through the crossmember. Remove these and you can lower the diff out of the car (some wiggling may be necessary).
Should take you no more than an hour if you don't hit any snags.

Thanks Norbie, I hit a snag.
I was at Nick-A-Part (aka Pick-A-Part) and was under the car for 30 minutes trying to remove the CV bolts also since the car was proped up by rims, I wasn't game enough to put a little more weight incase the car came on top of me. The bolts on the housing were un-do-able without doing stupid things. The Trip wasn't wasted as I got other small nick-nacks for the 5M-E.
I think it's safer for me to wait till someone wants to sell their F Series open diff center (with a lower diff ratio) housing that I'll put a bid on it and see if it is within budget.
Cheers.

Cheers.

it took me and a mate about two hours to get two diffs out of two ra65 the first one took about just over an hour cos we sat there trying to get the diff out still with one bolt attached and the second one took about 30 mins cos we new what to do. then we ended up paying $150 for two diffs and two black ra65 seats in very very good con and some bits and pieces.
