When i was driving home the other day i noticed that when ever i brake with the gears there is a strange sound. it sounds a bit like grunching/scraping of metal. it's only durning compression braking. If i give it enough throttle to stop the car braking, it stops. Could this be a worn out bearing of some sorts.

My Celica did a similar thing when the diff was on its way out.
