SOLD: *RARE* MA63 Mk2 Supra *Turbo*

Note: this car is in Perth, and I would prefer a local buyer
Hi all...
Its been a tough decision - but I need the cash!
These things are so rare, most people have only heard rumours of them. Now for sale to a genuine enthusiest:
1982 Mk2 Supra (MA63) Import
MTEU engine - 2.0lt 6cyl single Turbo (yes, factory turbo)
Auto (only made in auto)
White
Electrics
Factory boost gauge
Turbo timer
Unlicensed
This is an excellent project and is really begging to be restored - unfortunately its going to have to be done by someone with more time and more money (unfortunately not me).
Car is currently not running - missing a battery and a couple of ignition leads.
This car is complete - no additional hard to find parts required, just a bit of time and effort to fix up.
The body is fairly straight (a few minor dings) but hasn't been in any major accidents. Rust is the main thing keeping this car off the road - but is fixable (tho the hatch is done for, it would be easier to get another one).
Interior has seen better days, but will come up alright with a clean up. Half the interior has been pulled apart by the prior owner for rust work - but its all there.
I will post pics if necessary... I've only just decided to sell, so I don't have any currently.
and the part you been waiting for: $500 firm
(priced for quick sale).
Please register interest, PM or email me - djferraz@yahoo.com
Thanks - hope this goes to a good home.

nah - no pics as yet.. I'll get some as soon as.
The dash is analog, and the boost guage simply replaces the battery amp gauge. The rest looks the same.
it would be a real shame to part it.. there ain't too many of these around. I hope to find someone to restore it.
if you really want the dash - you can have it for $500, and I'll throw in the rest of the car for free!! hehehe

Dude, your Simmons (if they are still on the car) have got to be worth that. (Are they? Interested!) And it would be a real shame to part it.

Stefan - I'm not selling my pride and joy.. the GA61! are you crazy.. I just bought a 7MGTE for it!
So the Simmons stay with me.
The MA63 for sale just comes with the standard Toyota celica style mags.
and as already stated - MTEU engine.

I couldn't figure out why you were selling your car, and so cheap I thought the one for sale and your pride and joy were the same car!

Really? I've never really understood how the MTEU fit into the M and F family trees.
And as for dash boost guage - don't get too excited guys. It's just a little on/off needle (or light on the digital MTEU clusters) that tes you your turbo is boosting.
If you wanted a practical factory-look boost guage, you'd be better off trying to fit a slim boost guage (maybe digital) behind the amp guage.
Damo: That is a really cheap price you're letting it go for. You could probably get that much just for the exhaust manifold & turbo. Also, last time I saw one of these (prolly same one) was years ago, where does the intercooler mount and what's the piping like? If you still have it on the weekend, I wouldn't mind coming by to have a look and snap some photies.

intercooler? in a pre 85 turbo? manufacturers seldom used intercoolers in this period, and just as the 3TGTEU or FJ20 or similar turbo engines of the period, the MTEU has no intercooler as factory.
I have heard from reliable sources that this manifold bolts to a 5M as the MTEU is a M block with 2l capacity with a similar head to the 5M, not sure why anyone would want to turbo a 5M though, unless of course if it was for a little bit of fun before a conversion

JAZE is correct about the intercooler situation.. much like the Cordia and such of this era - its non-intercooled.
Also - I'm lead to believe that this turbo set up can be bolted onto a 5M if one was so inclined... I'd hate to see it used for parts tho, it really belongs in the hands of a restorer.. but hey, I guess its up to the purchaser.
Justin - you're right about the factory boost guage.. its more of a novalty rather than practical.
if people are so concerned that the price is low - I'm happy to jack up the price!! I was just really hoping to sell withing a few days so I have cash for the weekend and pay my outstanding bills! if there's demand for the car it will go to the highest bidder
ps. took some photo's today - so I'll post them up asap.
tah

What is the body like apart from the obvious rust spots that can be seen in the photos ?
Any interior shots ?
How much would it be to get the car to Adelaide ? I presume that it is running ?
Cheers

I'd say it would be more correct to say that it is based off the M-EU (2L SOHC blah blah blah) series engine, rather than the 4M....
