having issues with the interior light in my 90 sx
it works when you switch it to on (so its not the globe )
but the door selection doesnt appear to work (its not the door switches as the icon lights up on the dash)
i opened the casing and it doesnt look like its the physical connection...
any ideas? im not really looking forward to wire chasing
thanks

Check the actual operation of the switch itself. It may be that its not making connection when you change it over to the door setting. Otherwise it sounds like the unit is not earthing when you open the door. This means (Wirechasing) following the connection from the light unit to the earths in the doors. Good luck.

haha
yerh mine is a seca... but i lost a sub due to my alarm not activating
the alarm people told me the rear door sensors are shagged, which i agree with as when you open them they dont set off the light on the dash, but the front doors still activate the dash warning light...
ill get into it in the next couple of days and let you know how i go

If you take out the earthing switches in the back panels and clean them out with some WD40 they should come good, the dirt builds up in them and they dont earth anymore.

yeah, ive got the hanes (or what not) of my car
i pulled the light to pieces ... lost the spring mounted bearing somewhere in my car , replaced it with one out of a skateboard...
scraped off all the cr*p, thats built up in the last 14 years and rinsed with wd40, the interior light works fine off the door switches now
now ive gotta figure out if i can get into the door switches (dont think so) as a wd40 clean didnt do the trick

You need to take the switches out and rinse them through with WD to make them work, if this still doesnt work. Earth the wires going in to switches to the body, if the interior light comes on you know the wirings good, just replace the switches.
