hi all
i am embarking on a new project, putting a 1uz into a hk premier. i need to know which motor i need to get a rear sump. i have found a crown half cut for a good price but its a plane ticket away to see if it has a rear sump. i am going to be runnin twin turbos 35/40's on the little beast and a tricked up auto. but i will be keeping with the sleeper them of white wall tyres, keeping the rear venetian blind and the big sun deflector that sits over the front windscreen.
if anyone could tell me about the sump configurations ot would be most appreciated.

ls400 is front sump
sc400 mid sump
crown is rear sump
think i got that right!

Nope, you got it backwards
LS400/Celsior/UZS141 Crown is front sump
UZS131 Crown is mid sump (by far the most common)
SC400/Soarer is rear sump
I'm not sure about the UZS151 Crown though, or anything newer.

how would i spot the differnece between a 131 and a 141?
i was looking at the special in the current zoom magazine for i think its sss, its a massive 2 page add and the pic is half way down the left page.

....and the position of the sump. And often they were called Crown Majesta whilst the others were Crown Royal Saloons.

You look at the firewall plate from the front cut.

well obviously, but as i said the front cut is a fair distance away. i will call the importer.

Then it doesn't matter. Just ask him where the sump bowl is - it's a lot easier and saves confusion.
