Dowloading media off internet

Sure this has probably been covered before, but my kazaa lite died. not the network, the actual program, tried reinstallinhg it but still dead.
Anyways, I was always a buff for dowloading unreleased, remixes, b-sides, live performances, accapellas, instrumentals and rare shit.
So best chances of doing so is using a proggy that has a large user sharing network.
What is probably the most popular and one with most people logging on nowadays.
And friend said it is easy to get caught using bittorrent and thats why he refused to download Initial D 4th Stage from it. Is it true or his nuts been shrinking for no reason?
Thnx all.

Bittorrent is growing to one of the more popular (if not most popular). Chances of geeting caught is probably the same as using any other program. There really isnt any 'safe' method of downloading illegal material.

I dont know about the legalities, but I found Morpheus to be quite good at finding rare tracks and stuff...but started to stuff up when I beefed up my firewall...
