Cracked 3tgte Exhaust Manifold

Hey guys,
After putting up with all the fun of a cracked exhaust manifold for long enough i wanna get it fixed. Problem is i've heard a few different things and people have varying opinions about it. Basically what i want to know is what is my best option in fixing this.
I have had a workshop tell me that yes they can weld it and it will be fixed, although i'm not sure of the cost. I have then had other workshops/exhaust places tell me no it cannot be fixed but we will make you a custom one for around $700. That would be stupid to do and retain the stock turbo so price goes through the roof with this option. Lastly i guess i try and find another stock manifold although i don't really like my chances of that...
Any comments, opinions or anything helpfull would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Jake.

weld it for now, save for a new manifold and get a larger turbo
had a charade that had a cracked manifold, welded it up properly with cast welding equip and it was fine.. till i sold it.. like 3 months, but i was flogging the crap outta it, and am sure the thing glowed red once or twice...
shouldnt be too much to fix it

I reckon you will find another one for sale quite easily, its just the freight of the heavy item that will be the killer!
Yes, if welded properly, it can last. Quite often though more cracks other than the repaired one will start to appear, as the manifold is just at that stage where its been thermally fatigued..

jake: i got a new, custom-made exhaust manifold and dump pipe from exotic exhausts for a little over $550.
maybe time to get something new that can withstand significant abuse?
plus you can get whatever flange plate you welded onto it? a common flange so upgrade isn't a major PITA.

Ok i've been offered a manifold from somebody here in brisbane for $100.00 thanks to toymods, so i'm going to try and go with that as i'd like to get my brake upgrade down before any more engine mods.
Final question, i know that there was 2 versions of the 3TGTE, i'm an idiot when it comes to engines but is there a difference in the manifolds or can i just buy it?
thanks for all the replies...
Jake.
