Dan,
Did you get the I/C pipe pics ?
I ended up getting an ARC valve (similar to the ones sold at Option1 http://www.option1garage.com.au/xxblowoffvalves.ht m ), but it is a venting one at the moment, but will also modify it to make it plumb back (by fitting a new outlet pipe).
I was going to try and get a GReddy S type (I think) as it was plumb back, but couldn't get one locally at a decent price
Cheers

Michael,
I did get the pics! thankyou very much for them... i'll be taking them to my piping guy for ideas if he needs them. I've been looking at a Go Fast Bits plumb back type (online for $180) but i haven't really ever heard any good or bad things about them

I think it is like everything in that sort of market. You get what you pay for.
Like the cheap chinese I/C's, get the best that you can afford, but if you can't afford the best, most of the time, something is better than nothing !!!

Danners,
I'm currently using a hybrid sorta BOV (the stock one was rooted) that my friend gave to me, and I've yet to experience any ill effect. It vents air both into the atmosphere and back into the intake. That might be a thought? Unless you dont like the wanky noise, which I think I have grown to tolerate.

You wont gain power from the BOV, but I guess you are referring to the I/C ?
What size and brand ? Have you been quoted yet ? A local place that specialises in I/C's and custom piping is doing a Mk2 Supra with 1JZ-GTE, and he'll end up paying about $1700 for cooler and piping !!!!!!

Yeah I was referring to the intercooler. I got a Hybrid 600x300x80 (i think) its going to takje a bit of shoehorning in but from what i've read the stock cooler is a bit of a joke and i should see a few extra kW's appearing on my next dyno run!

I've looked into the Greddy Type-S that you spoke of Michael and it looks like the go!
I wonder how much modification it needs to become a plumb back unit?

I know I don't have a 7m but I have used the basic model GFB BOV in the past on a 1g-gte auto and it was fine. Didn't blow black smoke when I let off the throttle either for some reason?
IMO the get what you pay for thing doesn't apply THAT much to BOV's. Simply because there really isn't that much to them. You pay more for brand name stuff because it is a brand name.
Also, I just received my GFB Mach1 today which will be installed on my 1jz-gte. I wanted a recirculating one first but they are a heap more expensive, so I then opted for the basic one but they ran out of them, so now I have a 'fully sic' trumpet BOV Looks like the sleeper concept is going out the window
I will let you know how it goes when the car is eventually running again.

Same here i just put a atmo Blow of valve on a 1GGTE auto and no problems.. I did try the Gready type s blow of valve and it would stall if you revved it in natural. But no probs with this one...its just a standard basic BOV. Anyways with soarers sound deadening under the bonet you cant hear the blow of valve...The wastegates are louder ...untill about 15psi and back off then you can slightly hear it...but I am sure u not after that wanky sound..

I have read in a couple of magazines that the FMIC on the Soarer is pretty dodgy...
A change to a decent I/C, plus a freed up exhaust should see a great increase in power...
As for the BOV, I can't recommend brands, but I will say, go for a plumb back style.
Main reasons
1) Vent to atmo is illegal
2) You don't look like a wanker going "PSHT"
3) Sleeper style...
