Corolla Conquest OR Mazda 3 Maxx

My gf is looking for a car, and shes keen on getting a mazda 3 maxx or corolla. I personally prefer Corollas as they have a undisputable history. Being a Toyota fan i have recommeded her to get a corolla.
Considering mazda3 is brand new (released early this year) it's basically looks better and has more power.
We have test driven a Corolla but not mazda3 yet
But i would like to know what you guys think?! Corolla or Mazda3??

Get one of those turbo corollas they released a couple of years back... Mazda3s look alright but they're not up to turbo rolla power.

Umm i'm a little biased  Got a 2003 Conquest & i'm very happy with it!!!
My only suggestion would be to buy a manual. Engine takes a little while to get used to but you get great fuel economy (I average ~6.5l/100k's), power windows/mirrors etc, and pretty roomy aswell. Plus the Corollas have good resale value whereas the Mazdas are somewhat unproven...

My brother & sister-in-law have just bought a mazda 3, not a maxx but none the less i'm quite impressed with it, i have driven it a couple of times & found it quite comfortable to drive, I love the dash in it, Looks hot at night!
