Removing a FWD engine?	Thu, 18 November 2004 09:19

How would i go about removing a motor out of a camry without taking the gearbox out at the same time? it looks impossible but is it? it has about 1" clearance between the motor and the car body. [Report message to a moderator]

From what I've seen removing the gearbox from my Caldina, I'd say you'd have to at least swing the gearbox out of the way first. Do you have to remove the engine tho? ie what do you want to do to it? [Updated on: Fri, 19 November 2004 04:11] [Report message to a moderator]

You will have to remove the gearbox as the shaft from the gearbox goes into the clutch/torque convertor at least 6-7cm [Report message to a moderator]
