used to have that problem with my rollies as well, i just adjusted the idle, seemed to work fine after that.probably was the wrong thing to do.

I have had the exact problem with my car. Mine is a AE82 twinky also. The only thing you can do is to not have the airconditioner working to hard or turn off. Check alternator igintion computer. If it stalls turn everything off lights radio etc then start again is my reccomedation. If you find the secret let us know.

Yeah I end up turning off everything such as lights, my stereo, and it ends up turning on first time everytime. And I never have the A/C working any way.
The problem with stuffing around with the idle is that in the colder weather the car will chew up more petrol, as the car will never drop the revs.
But its a real shit when Im going to the beach or Im stuck in traffic and it just cuts out. Its got something to do with electrical and cooling...
Im on a quest to figure it out and my mate whos a mechanic is really intrigued as well, before I sell the damn car next year.
Like it hasnt been as hot of late so there hasnt been any problems...

fwiw, on my mums AE82 4AC (yes i know different motor) it would randmoly cut out in hot weather.. sometimes it would start again straight away, sometimes not... and sometimes not after sitting for a while if it was very hot..
anyway, it turned out to be the ignitor module... it starts to fail when it's hot, and the prob gets worse and worse.. we swapped for new ignitor and all was good.
try swapping your ignitor for a known good one and see if it makes any difference?

I knew it had something to do with cooling and electricals
Not to sure what and where this is ignitor module is?
