i have to do the P's test to get my licence back,but i will be going back onto my blacks,will i have to do the manual test?or doesnt it matter as black licences are unrestricted??

Doesn't matter.
When you get your green P's you're allowed to drive a manual car but they don't test whether you actually can so it'll be the same in your case.
Is this a new system? Or is it only because you lost your license that you have to pass the P's test again? It sounds really weird to do a practical test before getting your full license, assuming that you're on your green P's (which you have to be before getting your full license).

yeh i lost it for 3 years,so i have to do the driving test to get it back,i cant get a manual car for the test,so hopefully it wont matter if i use their auto.my mate rekkons it shouldnt matter as its only the p's licences that are restricted?

That's almost correct.
Red P's are restricted to what kind of car you do the prac in. After Red's you're unrestricted. If doing this test is going to put you on your full license then automatic is fine. 
Relax. You'll be on your full license shortly
