Do you have a electronic 4 cyl one?
I'm guessing you need it for the 6 cyl tacho?
You know the wiring is COMPLETELY different between the two, and even how it interfaces with certain parts of the car is different.

PM bbaacchhyy - he is/will be in the process of converting from Digital to Analogue.
Tis not an easy process.

sorry dude, it has a 6cyl 1g in it, hence the tacho is off already .. but if it is a hassle, better if i just fix the speedo cable and get a shop to convert the tacho to the right reading

Oh, its a hassle to convert analogue dash to digital. (And vice versa)
Electronic dash uses a speedo cable anyway

I started wiring it up yesterday doing my best to decipher things, and have gotten easy things like blinkers, door ajar, hi beam, and handbrake to work, but dash lighting is not working (may be dodgy wiring on my car), but some other connectors are not easily traceable, and the cluster that I have is different to the wiring shown in the Mk2 TSRM.
So I'm gonna get the digi dash working properly and try and decipher the analogue one better.
At least I got the tacho working !!!!

I'll get it done, but it will require more time and it will be worth it.
I hopefully resurrected my digi one last night by swapping over the various bits. For those that haven't pulled them atpart, they are in 3 separate modules : Tacho, Speedo and Fuel/Water temp.

Cool, thought thats how.
I'm trying to do it without the booster.
But I don't even know if the tacho works at all.
Gotta try with a normal motor.

Here is a pic. It is connected to the yellow wire on the six pin connector on the ignitor, and goes to Pin 9 on the plug (black wire) on the back of the cluster. (Plug disconnected to clarify)
The grey wire is the one that is connected diirectly to the plug on the back of the cluster.

So no booster?
Straight from yellow wire on ignitor, splice in grey wire, and connect grey wire to pin 9 (black)?
I currently have pin 6 on the ignitor connected to pin 9 on the dash.
Pin 6 was supposed to be IG-
The yellow wire is one of the -ve coil wires.
So you will have 1/3 the revs yes?

The booster is hiding behind the stereo. (sse latest pics in Members ride section)
Yes. (except now it goes to and from tacho booster)
NFI, that is how it was wired when I got the car.
With the booster connected, I have the revs as per the test function (2k and 5k), but before, yes the revs were low, but don't know by how much.

Cool, will check your thread.
So the booster is just 4 wires?
Ignition, Earth, old signal in, new signal out?

It didn't work at fiorst, but when I got the right wire it was just as advertised.
Yes to the 4 wires and their connection !!! Only downside is the size of the unit.
