G'day fella's,

I have come across a problem lately with my 1g-gte, that is chasing up the gaskets for inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, etc. A local Toyota dealerships response was that most of the parts need to be imported from japan (obviously) however they can not do this unless i give them a chassis number of a vehicle that the engine is in. No go as the engine is out of a wrecked car. So would anybody be able to point me in the direction of how i can chase up parts for this engine.

As far as i could make sense, Toyota varried parts within a range so apparently a model prefix is not good enough, though i thought it would be for gaskets.

I gave them a try, (they were able to give me a costing with just the engine prefix number) they only stock more common parts like jza80 supras and the like. I think they could get them but my assumption is thay might get damaged when sent to melbourne.

If anyone else has any experience with this let me know please

you need to find some 1 with a import car like a ga70 supra or what ever the engine came from ,toyota australia will not import parts unless you have the proper frame no to match the engine this is to stop the importer from bringing engines good luck
