How to adapt 4AGZE CAS to 20v head... Mon, 22 November 2004 12:56 Go to next message
Hi everyone.

Does anyone have pictures or information regarding adapting an
AE101 4agze DLI CAS/pickup to a 20v head.
I am looking into what it would take to mount the pickup successfully on the back of the 20v head.

This is for the intention of running the 20v-GZE with the standard 16v MAP 101 GZE w/DLI ECU.
20v gze = standard 20v block/head/internals, w 4agze ancilleries (SC/ECU/Injectors/customer plenum)

Hers some reference pics:
My own site is down so Im apologise for robbing pics/bandwidth from another site.

Does the 20v dizzy have the same number of tooth pickups then the CAS? if so could you just make up a flat cap and remove the rotor?

Ive to look into this yet.
Pickin up a blacktop with a spun bearing in a week or two as part payment for a job Wink

Even if the toothed wheel has the same num of teeth
the actual magnets that pickup/generate a signal may not output the same signal as a 20v for the ECU to interpret?

The (dis)similarity of the signals would be known to Aftermarket ECU owners Im sure. Someone on Club4AG designed a Digital signal converter to allow the 20v pickup signal to work with a GZE DLI igniter negating the need to cut the bulkhead. so I think the signals are different Sad

Heres the links

Any input here from aftermarket ECU owners?
