TA22 v R32
|

|
|
Pulled up to lights stud rd near shops, and i hear this LOUD as exhaust look in my rearview what else but a black 32 with 17s,exhuast,f/m,bov,airfilter [could hear the whistle].
I revved it for the fun, bov hissing then he did the same but that 32 sounded niiice and i was a bit like .
I was waiting for the lights to go green, hands tight on the momo, drop it.
I get a good jump, he got a bit of spin but the race was basically finished before it started.
I got a ta22,1ggte,standard turbos,3" exhaust,f/m,bov,boost controller, i was only running 9psi.

awesome! how much did you win by?
those 32's are alright off the line and from lower speed actually.
I thought this was going to be a BS story about a stock ta22 beating a Skyline when I read the title

do you even own a 1g gte ta22.. i mean really?..
From what i am aware, the 1g is too big for a ta22(thats why everyone has 1g ra23's)
on november the 2nd you posted about buying a ta22 and ask for a workshop to put a 1g gte.
conversions AT LEAST take a month and often a lot longer.
now a 1g gte into a ta22 I beleive would mean moving the firewall back. now I very much doubt that in 20 days they could cut and shut the ta22 to fit a 1g, fit a 1g.. make it run and have it back to you all in that time.
i smell bullshit..
but CONGRATS on the win...............
i win against all sorts of cars in my dreams

Except for that time when i raced the space shuttle in my mums mazda astina, i revved it to 12,000 rpm coz its a mazda and all mazdas are rotarys. Oh. its a 20b triple rotor, my dad and i did the conversion in 1 day. Does anybody know if i can get some forged pistons for it so that i can use a T88. Oh, i also won coz i swapped the fuel injection for a carby and run a motec.

comedy genius!
actually, enough of this..
true story..
My brother(1 y/o) has one of those push along cars.. so anyway I turboed it in 1 day, but the turbo was so big I had to sit it in my lap.
Pulled up to the lights against, you guessed it.. SPEED RACER.. we took off.. I got the jump on him.. FLAT SHIFTED 1st,2nd,3rd all the way through 27th gear and by 20 metres from where we started I was a kilometer ahead..

I don't know about the truth of this story (I mean really who cares who raced who anyhow).
Quote: | now a 1g gte into a ta22 I beleive would mean moving the firewall back

Nope, remember back to a few years ago and the "MRBOOST" (Called the More Boost Celica, white incolout) TA22 which had a 1GGTE single turbo etc running 10's. It was a rough looking car that went real quick, a bang for your buck car.
A guy here in Canberra in the Celica Group has a TA22 with 1GGTE and I have also seen a ke35 corolla with a 1GGE fitted. No fire wall mods for these conversions just the radiator moved forward. A tight fit, but do-able
This one time I raced a..................

Oh yeah, there is also an AE86 with a 1GGTE in the Canberra Celica Club, he frequents these forums as "Dirty Sanchez". Pretty sure that one didn't even need the radiator moved forward. I think pics of this 1GGTE AE86 are in readers rides
I hope this wasn't referring to my post, I never lie, because lies make baby Jesus cry

Fair enough!
In reality, would a TA22 with a 1GGTE be competitive against a R32?
By the way he's been talking, I doubt he has one either..

A TA22 with a 1ggte would have to be pretty quick, the soarers with that engine go fast.
Did he say whether it was a GTR or a GTST? that would make a bit of a differnece.
But yer my stock st162 snacks on GTRs..............

I KNEW someone was going to say this! lol Haven't you watched Young Einstein. Light travels in particles AND waves..
Anyway, whatever it was I left it sooooo far behind, I think it got a bad launch and by the time my noz kicked in and my turbo spooled and my EMS adjusted my air-fuel ratios, and my 25'' zorst started flowing and my "tornado" from eBay switched into action, the best the light particle could manage was 300klm/sec loser flyby down at Liverpool Krispy Kremes

you can have your tvr yes they are light yes they are fast but they are british, ie they have sloppy build quality and break down often.
