MS53 Crown Custom station wagon Tue, 23 November 2004 13:02 Go to next message
Ok...basically I am just finding out if there is any interest on these boards for a MS53 Crown Custom station wagon.

Year: 1970

Condition: Perfect condition, original paint, no major marks (eg parking lot scratches only)

Colour: Green metallic

Engine: 2.6ltr 4M/2M hybrid

Interior: Black, slight wear. near perfect

Wheels: Aunger 14", original crown wheels and caps available

Other: front suspension rebuilt in the last few months, after market aircon, 5 speed celica (i think) gearbox, towbar, power tailgate window, registered until March 2005, genuine reluctant sale, various spare parts, located in Canberra, super rare car, use to be 1 of only 2 in Canberra now probably the only 1, always garaged, no rust!

WILL ONLY SELL TO ENTHUSIAST WHO WILL NOT F@#K UP THE CAR WITH MODS OR RICE!!!!! CAR IS OF MUSEUM STANDARD AND IF AN OFFER IS MADE FROM A MUSEUM...THATS WHERE IT WILL BE GOING!!!

SERIOUS OFFERS ONLY, NO TIME WASTERS...THANKS

NO PICS YET...SORRY

$$$?

I'll hopefully be getting some pics on the weekend.

And yes the car is in better condition than you are thinking.

Its been garaged all its life so you can imagine what it will look like.

I wouldn't necessarily say that yours is sacrilige. The only thing is this car has been around for nearly 35 years and is nearly in the same condition as it is when it came out of the factory. It would be just a shame for someone to put in one of those mega hp supra engines + s5 rx-7 axles + s5 rx-7 gearbox + rice spoiler + fat wheels + lowered + subs & CD player and everything else that goes along with it.

BTW your crown looks pretty good, I would be lying if I said it was ugly + overdone.

The only mod this car has is the celica gearbox which was installed years ago. I realise that the car is not 100% original but it would have to come close to being the most complete and best looked after MS53 wagon in Australia.

I hate to say but you just pretty much listed all my mods.

Straight ones and stock ones are hard to come by thats why I'm not chopping up the other one I have. It will be on the road later this week bog stock 2M 3spd colum shift

Good luck with the sale and happy crowning to the new owner.

P.s don't know why you would but in Rx7 shit into a toyota Supra engines and boxes all the way plus Crown diffs are good.

74GT,

I reluctantly had to sell my 1 owner original MS53 some time back. If it was in close to as good condition and reasonably priced I would be interested.

Is it as sweet as my old one was ?:

I'd say the car is just about as good as that...and don't forget you get the original wheels with the sale too, but condition...yeah I'd say on par.

By the way...this car is the rarer 'custom' model with factory tinted windows. I have also just learnt that the compressor needs replacing.

74GT,

All MS53's were "Custom" wagons. The pleb version was an MS57 !

The MS53 has the dicky seat in the back, Better brakes and suspension and the rather cool "Custom" badges on the rear tailgate and front guards. Smile

BTW did I mention I got new number plates for when I finish restoring the MS63 I bought. CU57OM

Wink Keenly awaiting pics Smile

After seeing some Crowns at the wreckers I have become a little fond of their old school styling... Which model was the Crown that had the wierd chrom stip above the lights and grille area? I am not sure but I think the one I am thinking of is like toyman75, the red sedan. At least i think that it is yours.

Simdog,

If I was to buy this MS53 the Red Crown I drive now would become for sale. I just can't afford to run as many cars as I used to. Having a Kid does that to your lifestyle.

You mean this front end ?

74GT,

The pics look good. Let me see what I can organise re getting to Canberra to check it out.

BTW (everyone) I'm selling the car for my computer illiterate neighbours so if you want to give me a rough estimate of the times you will be available, I will inform them and see whats convenient for them and get back to you as soon as possible.

Dave,

All reports suggest a 1UZ will not fit in a 60 Series crown (Or a 50 series for that matter) Besides the MS63 will take me quite a while to restore so it would be great to have the MS53 Wagon there as well Smile I really do miss my old wagon.

You just can't have to many wagons Wink If I end up getting a 40 series wagon later on it will deffinatly receive a 1UZ ! The 53 and 63 wagons are just getting to hard to find.

toyman, so you do own the red crown... Yeah, that's the one I am thinking of. What are those babies worth these days?

That wagon you are selling 74gt looks very nice. Awesome colour. Is there a price that the owner is after?
