Any data on my car? Anyone heard of others?

Someone ever heard of another one of these?
1979 Celica Liftback, originally painted black, designated by the badges as an 1800SE
My car's designation, by it's build-plate is an E-TA46-BLMES
It has a 1.8 litre emissions-controlled (Jap) 13T-U.
This is a carburetted pushrod engine with similar-to-hemi chambers and offset-domed pistons; Mine seems to have a slightly more aggressive cam
It has a live axle rear end with drum brakes, and was originally seated on 13" wheels, apparently, because the front discs are small enough to fit under 13" wheels (normal Celica front discs don't).
Original 'luxury' equipment;
-- Two-speaker stereo with blanks for four, came with standard radio/tapedeck (no big HiFi thing)
-- Power mirrors (mounted on wings)
-- Tiltable/reclinable/headrest-equipped lumbar-adjustable driver's seat
-- Airconditioner, heater, with vents for rear-seat passengers
-- Centre console with storage unit
-- Under-bonnet light (I think)
-- Thicker exhaust all the way up
-- Lifted suspension (car is nearly a foot off the ground)
-- Tiltable steering column
If anyone knows of any other examples of these making it into the country please let me know, I haven't heard of any others
and I'd like to know what the original trims looked like, or if I can get a new set of power mirrors. Thanks, Neal
EDIT -- Car also has steel, rubber-end-capped bumpers (see avatar).

As he said, its a TA46.

Certainly is an import, right down to the script on the inside of the driver's door.
I've never heard of any other 1800SE's, though I've heard of TA46's they've all been 1600's...

From what I can gather....
You are the proud owner of a TA46 1600SE
The TA46's are a strange model and can be classified as 3 different models
Celica, Carina and Celica-Camry. yours is of the Celica Variety.
I have never heard of any in existance in Aust, and I would doubt that there would be too many left in japan.
From the information I can find there are two models in the range, the base model SX and the up spec (Luxury) SE model.
I might look further into the model as there was another page that had som information in it the I can't find.
It would be interesting to see some pictures of the car and the interior, however I think you will find that the interior may be the same as the RA40 GT models.
If I find anything else I'll post it up.
Look after it rare toyotas are worth it in the greater toyota community.

A 1600SE?
It's an 1800 though, the 13T is a 1.8 litre... And the car has "13T-U" on it's build plate, so it's not an aftermarket engine..
And unfortunately it wasn't looked after before I got to it. >_< There was a rather bad dent I have to get seen to as soon as I have the money to do so, the console was broken at the front and repainted, the woodgrain was taken off the dash..
I'm going to have to find replacement bits, probably from Britain, for those particular parts. But anyway, the interior door panels need new seals, so I'm running standard RA40 ones until then. They have shag carpet down on the bottom half and chrome strips, and there's a map pocket on the driver's one.

Not quite. Where there's fur in that one, I have woodgrain (! ) in mine. The seats are similar but cloth

Hi,
What's with the gearstick in the above photo? It looks like a T-bar shaped manual gear changer. It looks like an awkward shape for manual gearknob.
I've never heard of the TA46, but it sounds pretty rare. I'd get that baby fixed back up to showroom specs and try and get it to the Nats next year. Then I can check it out in the flesh.
