1zj AFM limit Thu, 25 November 2004 05:17 Go to next message
Hey guys,

I've tried to search both here and google, but to no avail, so does anyone know of the limit or near limit of the 1JZ-GTE (late model, VVTi) AFM? I know injectors are 380cc...

Thanks!!

Injectors are actually 430cc... the old 1JZ twin turbo uses 380cc.

Not sure about the AFM limitations. If you upgrade to a PowerFC ECU, you buy an additional wiring kit to turn it into a MAP instead from memory.

A Common Miconception mate... Yes toyota did change the injectors from the TT to the VVTi one... They changes from yellow top side feed injectors to Denso Grey top Top feed injectors.

Because of the angle the injectors are on the injectors are extremely narrow... However the VVTi items are indeed 380cc and not 430cc as stated on many sites... I have confirmed this with Denso..

Yeah its one of the favourite rumours surrounding these engines... When I bought mine however it didnt come with injectors so on my hunt for factory injectors I found out from denso that they are in fact 380cc just like the TT ones

Yep all the TT 1JZ's are 380cc Side Feed Yellow top injectors

The later single vvti motor had 380cc Top Feed Denso Grey injectors
