Problem with 5mge on 5me loom, auxiliary air valve Thu, 25 November 2004 06:40 Go to next message
have a crown that originally had a 5m-e and now runs a 5m-ge on the 5m-e loom and ECU
6 wires
for runing original cold start stuff
They were cut off when the engine was bought(was in a conversion'd car running 5m-e loom and ecu aswell)
They werent connected in that bay.
Wire colours are
white, 2pink, a blue and a yellow and a black

Does anyone know where they go?
What its doing is running fine when normal.. but on cold start runs REALLY rich(black smoke etc)

Thx

hehe, that pic is out of my haynes manual (i put it up AGES ago), has been getting around lol

5me's have an output for the cold start injector (I imagine that the 5mge does as well), cold start injector switch (i think is just an open/closed temp switch for the CS injector), a sensor for the water temp (same on the 5mge? I suspect it would be...), and 12v for the Air Bypass Valve (ABV).

compare that to what a 5mge expects Smile

Cheers

you are a giant dong Razz

what do you need pics of? There really ain't much to it Razz

real life pics? or diagrams?

If you have the wires coming off the engine, you won't nee to know where the goto lol (assuming the other wires, that went to the 5me are still hooked up?)

Cheers

with the auxilary air valve

you mean the one that is open when closed then slowly shuts off as engine warms up

if this is the one you mean

then run one wire to earth then the other to the fuel pump power

doesnt matter which one
as long as one goes to earth and other to pump positive
