4age cams

I have a spare 4age big port in my backyard and i driver an sx corolla with a small port 4age, my questiion is are the cams the same from the big to small port. i would like to know as soon as how I have the big port out back I can pull the cams off that and have them ground down or modified and then just switch them when i get them back, instead of having the sx off the road waiting for cams. If this can be done, how much or what degree should i get them done at so i get more power, but don't have to modify any other aspect of the engine yet.

To put it simply yes, big port cams fit small port motors, power/torque isnt all that noticeable thou, not really worth the effort.
If you gonna geta set of cams ground down you might as well do it properly with a new set of cams from "Wade cams". Sell any cams you have to help $$$$.
There not expensive and you can choose whatever duration and lift you need.
Dont goo too wild with the standard ecu, it wont work.
Search the forums, its been covered heaps already.
Cheers
Steve

Must say I was impressed actually, I rang Wade today, and the cams were done, so I went and picked them up. Oddly enough, they look like cams! Not much else I can say by just staring at them...

how much did they set you back if you don't mind me asking.
and do you guys think 256* with 8, maybe 8.5 mm lift would work fine on the standard ecu?

from what i read, 8 or 8.5mm is too much for the stock spring.

Cost is $200 each + GST, so $440 for the pair.
I got 280 deg. duration and 8.6mm lift in basic terms

MrShin, i'll be real keen to hear how they go, I have been looking at the same set of cams from Wade. Are you using the stock springs?

Call Wade, they'll be happy to post them to you.
I'll also be quite interested to see how they go Sometime in the next few weeks I should be able to tell everyone exactly the difference they make.
I'm going to be changing springs, although some suggest you could probably get away without it... I guess everyone's got their own little bit to say!
Standard ECU? I sort of took a bit of a guess that the poor old stocker wouldn't take too well to the cams, multi throttles, a turbo, LPG, and a moderate number of other select mods, so bought an M800 instead...
