Fuel Economys 1UZ, 2JZ, 7A, 3S.... Thu, 25 November 2004 12:45 Go to next message
A few quick questions, I've done some searching around and got these numbers, I just wanted ot see if my fellow Toymodders agreed with the numbers.

What it comes down to is I've got my Dad nearly on the verge of buying a Soarer Smile Which would be kool as I'd get to drive it occasionally, and he is looking for something a bit more interesting than the '95 rolla he's been driving, but he is worried about the costs of petrol, insurance & maintenance on Soarers....

1UZ-FE Economy : 12L/100Km's City 10/100Km's Highway
2JZ-GE Economy : 10L/100Km's City & 10L/100Km's Highway
7A-FE Economy : 9L/100Km's City & 8L/100Km's Highway
3S-GE : 10L/100Km's CIty & 10L/100Km's Highway
The V6 Camry engine(couldn't be arsed searching this late at night...)

Anyway can people confirm any of those numbers, or what they get? Also what's maintenance costs like on Soarers?

Damn soarers are nice. I was in my friend's one and I loved it. Not sure of the engine name but it's a N/A v8. So luxurious and really nice seeing the revs at under 2,000rpm when going at around 100km/h.
My 4AC sits nicely at around 3,500 to 4,000 lol

it also depends what car they are on aswell?.. on stock cars? or others or what?
cause my 1jz on the highway gets 8.3l/100km and isnt much worse on fuel when thrashing
but in normal soarers it can be double that

like I just said man, my car weighs in at like 1250 kg running the 1jz and on highway even boosting sometimes is 8.3 litres/100km
I have a 50l tank I think and I generally get by on 20 bucks a week fuel
trashing it quite a bit It wouldnt be any worse than 10l/100km
I dont understand why everyone elses 1j's are so petrol hungry?

Well I'm not going to say 9.7732 for Highway driving Razz I dunno about the 1UZ, I certainly know that I seems to use a much pertrol in 5th on the freeway as I do sitting in traffic.

Hows your 2JZGE go on the juice Glen?

11L/100 city
9L/100 freeway

One has to factor in driving style and car weight into those figures.

I have a 33ish Litre tank in mine Razz The only time that I actually used a whole tank of fuel, I drove down the highway for 150kms and then flogged it around QLD raceway at powercruise for 45mins and then drove to the gold coast which is about another 75kms.

So in total that was 335kms. So basically 10kms/L. This was when it was stock bar 3" exhaust. I thought that was pretty damn good. Also, my car has a 4.6:1 diff. Shocked
