Hello all; due to my car being a lemon I'm posting my second thread Sad ... the problem is the fuel reader on the dash not working so I lifted to boot to find the wires and it turns out they have melted!!!! i don't see how this is possible and don't exactly know how to fix it...would anyone be able to aid me with a diagram of any sort or better some guidance???????????

To who ever may be reading this.... the immediate problem is fixed but how can i stop the over heating of the wires????

Sounds like it might be shorted to ground, making it sink more current that it is meant to....?

If you have a multimeter you can check to see if it shorted to ground.. Smile

hello again wilbo! what i've managed to do is follow the wire all the way through and it stops at a point...at that point i removed all the wiring and put in a bike cable (the one for the brakes) now i turn the ignotion on and it works!!!! i just hope the thing isn't going to burn again, and it wasn't shorted out all the way to the ground which is weird...im not quite sure what happened
