Hi,
I can get a MR2 1993 Jap 1/2 cut with a Gen 2 (??) engine for about $700.
I want to put this into my 1991 SV21 camry.
I have seen other threads discussing this - they talk about a "special" engine mount (make one?? - rather not have to) - does anyone know if I can get one out of a Celica that has the same 3SGE engine??
They also mention using an electric power steering pump. Is this because the MR2 block has different mounting holes?? I would rather fabricate a bracket and use my existing power steering setup.
Any Ideas????
Thanks.

go to silverwater in nsw for a large range in toyota parts there u will find a late 80s model celica SX engine which is much similar to the engine u are talking about yet will be a direct replacement for your camry.. buying the mr2 is onli going to cause more problems as sum parts will differ coz its from a rear wheel drive car yet looke for a 1986 celica SX engien or similar coz the late 80 SX came with the same engine yet made for a front wheel drive setup which the st162 and sv21 camrys are prety much the same car with a diiferent body.
good luck

I remember helping "doctakay" with his conversion some time ago, from what i remember you'll need one engine mount modified.
Doctakay just went too a local engineering place for help, didnt cost much $200-$300 i think, PM or email him, im sure he'd be clad to help.
Cheers
Steve
