Early celica strut tops Sat, 27 November 2004 04:30 Go to next message
I am after the dimensions between the mounting bolts of the strut tops of the early celicas. I am of the understanding that all early celicas share a common strut top? I measure my ra23 can came up with a distance of approx 108mm between each mounting bolt.

The reason i am asking is that i have been looking on www.technotoytuning.com and they sell strut tops to suit '73 celicas = ta22??

www.technotoytuning.com/t3_site_pages/products/cam ber_plates.html

Any idea if the strut tops shown on this website that suit a '73 celica will fit a RA23??

I just measured my '73 TA22 and came up with ~100mm between each mounting bolt measured center to centre.

The bolt holes themselves are ~11mm inside diameter and the large center hole is ~81mm inside diameter.

Cheers,
Dan

Definately different between the RA23/28, and the TA22's. You can not interchange the strut tops.

I looked into this awhile ago and found them to be different.

Ended up getting Noltec adjustable strut tops. They didn't have one for the RA23/8 but were able to piece together some parts and make one that worked. I just had to enlarge the holes 2mm or so.

Cheers
Joel

Truth is i actually purchased '73 celica strut tops from techno toy tuning. Fair enough i was wrong in thinking that the ta22 strut tops were the same as the ra23/28 therefore i should have been delivered strut tops with holes measuring 100mm between each bolt center to center according to dcleyne. But when i received the strut tops it wasnt even close to fitting a ta22 or ra23/28. The strut tops have 3 mounting points measuring approx 108mm x 104mm x 98mm center to center.

What i need is 3 x 108mm so any idea what i have been delivered before i try to exchange them?
