4age distributor wiring

Hi all, i've almost finished my 4age smallport into ae86 conversion.
I wired it all up today but have a bit of a problem with the distributor.
The plug in the wiring harness had been cut off and wasn't there. I figured this would be easy enough just to join the wires up to the dizzy. But the problem is the colours of the wires coming out of the dizzy are different to those in the wiring loom.
Out of the dizzy is a red, green and two white wires. One of those white wires seems to join into 3 seperate wires when it goes inside the dizzy.
On the engine loom there is again 4 wires, but they are red, green, black & white. This is consistant with the wiring diagram also.
I figure can match up the green and red. but not sure about the black and whites. i did try to take a guess but got a bit of smoke out of the dizzy (hmm not good hope i didn't fuck it).
So yeah, does know how the wires from the dizzy are meant to go?
Thanks
Joel

Thanks for the reply mate.
It's all sorted now. I pulled the cap and dust cover thing off and worked out what wire went where internally. Evil toyota for changing the colours of the wires through the plug though!
I have a 4age bigport here as well but the dizzy seems quite different on this so couldn't really use as a comparision.
Smoke ended up not coming from dizzy but from the starter. It just drifted up and appeared to come from dizzy. Not sure whats going on with the starter though, it cranks really slow with a full charged battery and the main power wire gets red hot.
Time for a new starter I think!
Got to take it out for the first drive today with the 4age! Not much exhaust so noisy as hell but couldn't help going for a quick one.
Glad the 4age - ae86 conversion is finally pretty much finished. Now can get back to putting the 3tgte back together and into the ra28
Cheers
Joel
