ST 184 celica- power steering in a Camry Sun, 28 November 2004 09:34 Go to next message
Hi,
I wanna do a 3SFE to a 3SGE conversion for my SV21 camry (Yes, I want a sleeper!!) As the 3SGE is going to be out of an MR2 it doesn't have a power steering pump and uses an electric MR2 pump.
Does anyone know if you can get a bolt on power steering pump for a ST 184 Gen 2 3GSE (or probably a 3SGTE) Celica and put it on a 1993 MR2 Jap import motor, so I don't need an electric pump??
Confused

Any ideas appreciated.

Paul K

im thinkin it should work, as long as you get the pump and all brackets involved, yeah , i guess all ya can do it try ..the pump would mount on the back of the block , they might even be the same as the ones u hav now on ya 3SFE..

Thanks guys for the replies,

I guess it may mean the pulley off the front off the 3sfe, onto the MR2 3SGE + brackets - simple; but the post's I've read make it sound more difficult than that - maybe no-one thought of KISS (Keep It Simple, Stoopid!!)

I think I'll get the half cut and try it out- unless I get better advice in the next week or two!

Thanks
