Clutch/Gearbox Problems Sun, 28 November 2004 12:16 Go to next message
Hey,
I'm just a newbie so please forgive my stupidness. I have a ae82 4age and i'm having troubles getting into gear, yes the clutch is in, also sometimes(alot) it grinds and then gets stuch in gear. I went to my mate (a mechanic) he said that i had a noisy thrust bearing (this is before i started having troubles). The clutch is SO easy to push in, like there is no pressure. The clutch fluid is full. Anyone have any ideas and a prices to fix. NATURALLY i am not driving. But i need a car. Any help would be great.

Mick...

indeed... i have come across this problem before, my case

the seals were worn on the master cylinder and therefore the clutch pedal was easily pushed down but wasnt pushing down much fluid...

so the cluth wasnt disengaging fully causing grinding as it would...

sometimes the other seal in the master will leak too and
your fluid level will go down causing your feet to go green Razz

you can get a recond master pretty cheap ( repco?? )
or a seal kit ( $15?? ) and a small hone for diy - ps putting on the seals is a bitch
