guys thinking about getting another intercooler as i want a nice showy one that looks shiny and all
now for the part
i want to run around 14psi bost as opposed to stock now 9psi
car is a stock soarer 1988 model 1g-gte
How do I work out the intercooler volume from the dimensions , and then convert that back so I can have a custom intercooler made up
If anyone here knows what the stock intercooler of a soarer looks like then what I want to do is
Make the new intercooler longer but with a lesser height and more width for good cooling but at te same time keep the same volume or maybe go a bit bigger so I wont have much lag from the tiny stocker turbos that I will still be using

WTF? Forget about internal volume, it will make SFA difference to lag. Just get your measuring tape out, determine the largest core you can fit in the space available, and have your cooler built accordingly.

but norbie wont the bigger intercooler produce more lag as the4 turbos wont be able to push enuf air through it that why i wanted a similar sized cooler or mauybe a bit bigger

Like I said it will make SFA difference; it's unlikely you'll notice it at all. I have the biggest intercooler in the WORLD and I have no lag to speak of.

Best way to work out the volume of one is probably to fill it with water and measure how much comes out
If you want to be more sure it's dry again afterwards, fill it with as hot as possible water when you're done.
