Full EFI or Fuel Only for 3T-GTE Mon, 29 November 2004 00:54 Go to next message
Hi All,

I'm chasing some opinions (and experience) on aftermarket EFI mods for my 3TGTE.

Just wondering whether I should go for a Fuel Only computer like the Haltech F10X or go the whole hog for a full EFI like the Haltech E6X instead? (No brand names preferred, simply for example!)

I've searched the forums and noticed a few 3T-GTEs running F10's and F9's but I couldn't find any comments good/bad/ugly. Are there any gotchas to watch out for by going fuel only and keeping the dizzy etc for ignition?

Cheers,
Mike

it depends what has been done to the motor, mods etc. also what you want out of the motor, cruiser, performance, etc... i got the haltech F9 only cause it came with the car and is completely stock at the moment but when i do all the mods im gona go for a full management setup.

also with the haltech there are alot of variables that you can adjsut to perfect the motor but at the end of the day it is only limited to fuel, so everything else is done manually, ie, if you change timing, injectors and what not it needs to be re-dynod but with full management you get the hand controller which allows you to do it without the dyno (but of course nothing is better than the dyno)

well thats how i see it

I think if you are going aftermarket, go for the whole show and get a fuel & ignition computer.

Then you can tune the fuel & ignition maps to suit.

But yeah what Fade-e said, really depends on your aims and whats been done to engine.

Cheers
Joel
