expresions of interest: RCAs Mon, 29 November 2004 08:37 Go to next message
I am thinking of making a few RCAs up to suit Corollas, sprinters, Celias, Supras, etc.. they would be raw aluminium, available in different lengths and wouldnt be all rounded and shinny. It would have machined edges instead of a mirror finish but more than strong enough. I wouldnt bother with anadising because it doesnt get worn away and its like something thats unseen and usually covered in grease.

Would people want these and how much would they be prepared to pay?

i'd be willing to pay $50 for a pair, 30mm thick, or $100 for a pair 50mm thick.

make sure the hole in the center is ample for the balljoint nut/bolt tho...there's a few dodgy toymods sets getting around that need extra machining, and wont line up due to poor design.

ae86 would be my car of choice naturally.

cheers
steve

There was some guy on here ages ago offering a similar thing and there was like sooo many orders. I put my name for 2 sets. But nothing ever eventuated from it.

I reckon you'll get heaps of interest!

30mm, yeah around $60 or so.

Cheers
Joel

yep, i got one of these sets, the centre hole was not adequately machined to fit and the two outer holes didn't even line up, thankfully it wasn't too hard to machine down so i got it right.

thanks for the input guys, I have enough aluminium blocks to make 2 pairs for now. One for me one for someone else. Mine will be 40mm and the other will be 50mm. Now depending on what people think, material cost and how I go machining them up I will see what I can offer. I also hope those bottom bolts arn't hard too source in a longer size or else that will put an abrupt stop to my plans.
