Yes, host pics, wanna see the latest gt4 to enter the fold hehe
I was always curious if the ct26 out of the supra would be a worthwhile upgrade...i just wasnt sure if the wheel and turbine are actually bigger, as well as if the bolt pattern is the same and if its twin entry or not...
either way if your is off a 7MGTE then its living proof it can work.
either way welcome to toyomds, i look forward to meeting you and the other guys when our cruise gets off teh ground

Yeah well i have been told its the turbo from a 7mgte, dunno if its a bigger turbo at all think it just has a higher flowing unit not too sure but it definitely goes better then a standard gt4.

if you want boost in excess of 11psi you will need a FCD (Fuel Cut Defender...you can either buy one or make one yourself, plans all over the net) and a boost controller to control the wastegate.
I am currently investigating boost spike in the 3SGTE running a CT26 and am trying to determine what is the best BC to run with this setup.
To all, i shall be taking photos of my setup asap and post them up in the hopes that with your input/observations i can make a template for an ideal setup for taking the CT26 to its limits reliably (I am working on te assumption that a Ceramic twin entry CT26 can hold 14psi to redline)

Yeah i dont really want to push it much more then 11 or 12psi, it has a boost controller fitted but its not an electronic one so im not sure how good the non electronic controllers are for modding boost. Boost controller that is fitted in the car can control boost up to 12psi i was told by the owner.

Hey im trying to work out how much exhuast system will cost me cause i've heard it can vary a fair bit depending if u go the whole hog. what would be the best exhuast system for money ? im thinking of getting a 2.5 or 3 inch not sure bout mandrel bent (what kinda performance difference is there?) and dunno whether to go high flow cat or not cause same again i dunno if its worth the money for power. Any help would be much appreciated cause im still learning bout it all. Also does anyone know where abouts u can get exhuast systems done? in newcastle. Thanx all

with regards to getting an exhaust fitted i highly recommend a custom downpipe.
I compared dyno results with another similarly setup gt4 that had one and although our power outputs were very close together his power curve rose sooner and more consistent than mine
(i still have the factory downpipe w/cat)
If you do get one you will have to install a highflow cat to keep it legal further back in the system, just dont fit it near the turbo.

Thanx for advice. When u talking bout if its legal or not u mean by noise restriction? or is there other things that exhuasts can get defected on?

Hey congrats on joining the GT-Four family Bill.
With regards to the exhaust and hi-flow cat, emissions would be the only concern I can think of, as well as the obvious, noise. Has to be under 90dB at idle and 77dB while running (courtesy of the RTA and EPA website ).
If you modify the air intake, get a pod filter but make sure you can make it legal again by putting a heatshield over it. The cops are picky bastards when they know what they're looking for.
Cheers.

Sorry to hijack the thread but while we're on the topic of exhaust for 3sgte's i thought id but in. My cat is bolted straight onto the turbo and ive got a 2.5" exhaust from there on. I'm not sure if it has a hi flow cat, my guess would be no. How much extra power are we talking if i get a full 3" mandrel bent exhaust with custom downpipe and hi flow cat?
Right now it seems like too much money but id like to know what it would do for me.

Cool thanx for the advice fellas. Also another question that cycleofabuse noticed, when my car is off the boost guage sits at like 1 or 2 psi below 0 is this offsetting the boost level? like it hits max boost at bout 7 psi on the meter so would that actually be 8 or 9 psi since it start below zero when its off? If it is offsetting it what is an easy way to reset my boost guage? Thanx

to my knowledge most gauges cant be easily calibrated. Unless there is a dial somehwere on the unit to adjust the needle (highly doubtful...i mean who would want to move their needle from 0 for any reason) you might have to open it up and move the needle on the pin manually...
either that or its rooted and you need a new boost gauge.
cycleofabuse - as i mentioned earlier in the thread the advantages of a custom down pipe with a hiflow cat placed further back in the system is a smoother power curve that rises earlier and faster in the rev range....
It will give you some extra top end power as removal of the restriction allows the turbo to wor ka bit harder, but the main advantage is earlier spool up and more responsiveness...

Guy who hit me was a decent fella so he said to get a quote and he'll pay for it. Just wondering if anyone know roughly how much it will be? rear bumper need painting thats all no smash repairs and also what the good places in newy r for getting it done. Thanx

Sorted out some of the boosting issues with help from troy fixed some vacuum leaks and other things so thats alot better now. Still is a bit rough so soon when i got the dollars i'll be doin a full service including leads, fuel filter, dizzy cap and a tune (hopefully). Mods wise just installed some lower rear springs only lowered by about an inch but suits it heaps Anyways too much blab here r some random pics taken will add some ones with them installed but still gotta take them

Hey I was just reading about your Air Con problems, I had a similar issue with my 184. My heater core was shagged and needed to be replaced... Had to de-gas the Aircon in the process, then I needed the new gas converter $360 odd... Heater core was $320... Plenty of $$$ down the drain hey?
