do u have 2 shorten the engine mounts to get a 1ggte in an ra23 if u use the 1gge mounts. c

You would probably want to to get the engine as far back as possible. Sorry I could not ad more or be more specific.

I diddn't change my mounts for my RA28 but it's better too if you can. With the mounts the standard size then the plenum and throttle body is REAL clost to the bonnet. Most people lower them a little to help with the centre of gravity I think. As for moving it back. Good luke, with mine on the normal mounts there's like 5mm clearance between it and the firewall. Also, there is only 10 mm between the harmonic balancer and the radiator so you don't have much say in where it sits, it only fits in 1 spot.

thats great thanks guys, its just that some people say they cut them down while others don't. i just wanted to know whether its essential. probably a good idea then.

yeah but tim how much lower do you think you could have got it to sit.. you can get them in there pretty much up against the firewall and almost lying on the crossmember.
