Dr ta22- i need your diagnosis-(sorry should have posted in tech)

Hey,
basically in the last few days my auto (shudder...soon to be manual) ta22 has been stalling occasionally when i stop at lights or an intersection. i always warm up the engine before i drive it and it has never happened for the last three months that i have had the car. basically you stop at lights and then try to accelerate at green and it just revs out. it restarts every time which is good though.
any ideas what could be causing this...
Secondly, just installed a new aftermarket steering wheel and (shock horror) the indicators now don't return automatically. have to turn them off manually when the wheel is recentred. i assume i have muffed up something when i installed the wheel but what?
is it carby?
mates car is carby.. and if you kinda jab the accelerator it will stall. does it stall when taking off very slowly?
as fot the wheel.. there is little plastic thingy in there that interacts with the indicator. the boss kit should have holes that little fingers from this plastic doodad line up with and slot into.
