OK, box will be going in next week. I've got the bellhousing to suit 18RG (cause the box was previously fitted to one in an RA40:) ) and a Heavy duty RPM clutch and lightened flywheel. Ohh and of course the box. The W58 is out of a 1989 MA70 supra, so does that tell u what type of stick position it is?? I just want to know if I have to cut the floor up, cause if i do i'll have to make another custom centre consol, which will be a pain in the ass.
Any help????
Thanks
Ben

Ok, what i mean is:
I've heard that the W58 gearbox has several different stick postions. I was wondering if the 1989 MA70 Supra W58 box has one stick position, or was their multiple postions for that car.
If there is only the one position, will i need to cut the floor to fit the stick through in my RA28?
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Ben

what was your box/motor out of??? Cause mine doesn't look like that, very similar though. I think the shifter hole in the RA40 is in a different position to a RA28 though.
Thanks

its out of a 1987 GA70 supra
1G-GE with W58
funny thing is that it was supposed to be a W55 from factory, musta had a box swap during the course of its life.
also im pretty sure the RA28 and RA40 run on the same base chassis model.

I thought the R154 came with MA70 supras and w58 came with MA61 ??
Anyways here is a page about the W58 and the pic down the bottom shows the many different shifter locations!

The R154 was only used behind the 7M-GTE and 1JZ-GTE. The 1G-GTE and all atmo versions used the W58.
