sorry x 2 accidently dbl post!!
yup manual .. i know PITA must leave out of gear .. my mates supra had it .. i THINK u can just open doors without starting it ..know what i mean ??
so you only use the function when the car is parked at home (on flat ground where u can leave it out of gear .. ) basically cold start usage .. in the mornings etc

I sure hope you could.
It will have a a button for starting, and a button for disarming

A car takes 5-10mins of idling to warm up
And 2 mins of driving.
Just drive it cold, and don't thrash it.
Besides being illegal, these are the most wank things you can put on cars.
That said, the AutoWatch Blue series do it.
Would be well over $700 installed.

The AutoWatch IS ADR approved, and will bring your premium down.
However, it is illegal to have a car running without a licensed driver in the drivers seat.
Hence, autostart is illegal.

I have one installed on my car as part of my alarm system and i think it is brilliant....while i agree that driving a cold engine gently is the best way to warm it up, i still prefer waiting about 30 secs before i put a load on the motor (i.e. not dead cold, and oil has had a chance to circulate again) and with the autostart I can turn it on, and when im finished locking the dogs out and the house up i can jump in, put the key in the barrel and take off....
I disagree with the 'rice' status of this option, and personally feel that just because an option doesnt give you an extra 20rwkw or whatever doesnt mean that it cant make your car more enjoyable to own and drive....

Very few boxes have this.
But yes, it would work perfectly in this situation.

Nothing is illegal if you get it engineered and passed.

It was on the car when i bought it. Think it was done at Newcastle Car Audio...its a year or 2 old now so it would be an old model...
I think sidewinder...not sure, the zappers are different ones from the originals

anything's illegal for that amount of period when a cop decides it's illegal and gives you a fine for it, until you go get it cleared and the person who clears it laughs since it's obviously not illegal or was working fine in the first place

There are a lot of alarms coming out with autostart built in. Just go to your local car audio/alarm place and have a look. If you get auto start get a safety switch installed. They are probably illegal but if you use common sense then it shouldn't be an issue. Personally I love remote start. It does the warm up thing for the engine and in winter you can have the interior warmed up and the windows defogged (safer than driving without being able to see) and in summer leave the A/C on and it will be all nice and cool for when you get in. No one can steal your car while in autostart even if the alarm is turned off (why would you?) because you have to have the key in the ignition and turned to on before you can drive it. Assuming of course that all alarms with autostart are designed like mine.
