What mounts do you currently have? (on the mx83)
The cast alloy ones? or pressed steel?
If you have cast alloy ones, then it should bolt straight in
If you have pressed steel ones, then you will need a jzx81 crossmember, or contact bonnyville auto's for a set of mounts that by all rights should make it bolt in.

I am not sure if this is possible if you have no wiring at all. But if it is, I would go for an aftermarket ECU straight up. If you plan on upgrading stuff in the future which most people are you may as well do it now.
I know I should have

well you have to try find a loom to suit the engine
i dont htink it matters what ecu/loom you get
theres 2 style of plugs/loom
just get a matching set
might set you back a couple of hundred bucks
or you can go buy a microtech for about 1000 to 1300
i think if you want all sequential fire you need lt12
so there abit more

just hoomk up the microtech - they come with custom looms for the 1jz. then there's just a few other wires you need to hook up, which you can d oyourself/get someone to do.
I removed *all* of my original 1jz loom apart from a few wires!

The R154 from a jza70 has the gear stick position good for mx83.The trans tunnel needs opening up a little at the front.Nothing extreme.Just make a cardboard template of the wide section of the box and bash the shit out of your car until it fits.Works a treat! [I am not joking].Pete.r154 1jz cressida.
ps.i have no knowledge of boxes from other cars relating to gearstick position.I just know jza70 box fits as I used it.
