Cressida (7MGE) Tacho with 1GGTE Tue, 07 December 2004 00:10 Go to next message
Hi guys. I was wondering why the tacho on the cressida dash won't work with the 1GG?? I have the right wire from the engine and from the dash, but no signal is getting through. I did try hooking up the tacho directly to the coil, which seemed to work but only at about half of what you'd expect eg. 1500 at about 3000rpm.

Any suggestions?? Confused

Have you checked all your grounds on the 1G's loom? This HELPED mine... still doesn't work correctly imho.

Who needs a tacho anyway, when it starts bouncing off the rev limiter you should change gears Razz Razz

hows the 1ggte compare to the 7m. and was it an easy swap? you should get a auto sparky to look at your tach. i rekon theyd get it workin in 10min.

you need a tacho booster

i have small ones that i make that work on every cressida that i have done with 7mgtes and 1jzs

the orig engine in the cressida the signal comes from the neg coil

the proper tach signal from the 1gg is weak
