Hey all, i just been reading some topics from the evolutionmotorsport forums, it seems like a fair few of their lancers have superchargers, hence they're all pretty quick. So thinking now is there super chargers for the ST162 Celica?
Is it better to Super charge or turbo charge?
most of their lancers have 106kw @ the wheels.... which prolly explains why i keep loosing to lancers

You could probaly put a SC14 on but i think the general concenus is that is cheaper and more effective to do the 3S-GTE conversion

supercharger bolt on, no such thing. The ECU would have to be changed to an aftermarket.

no it doesent
the aftermarket ecu's are made to handle small ammounts of boost
up to like 6 psi is fine.
my mate has bolted an sc14 onto an rb30 on stock computer.. making 140rwkw

The ST162 has more potential then a missingbitsey, you can super charge these motors with say 3 to 5 psi but no more as they already have a fairly high CR about 9.5:1 I think. Generally speaking every 2.5 psi is equivellent to 1 CR unit, so I would have to say no more then 5 psi. The main factor is the space in the engine bay, I would personally ditch the A\Con and fit the blower down there.
If you decide to go blower of not it would be a good idea to fit extractors and a decent exhaust, maybe get the flywheel lightened a bit. Remeber nothing gets power to the road better then properly set up suspension.
Hope I have been of some help.
Ohh and leave those lancer boys to pull their poods, you don't need to associate with such filth, all the real cars are here!

your a wank.. but try it on ANY factory ecu and you can use a small ammount of positive pressure without disrupting the ecu. dick

nice effort there especially with the personal insults. it makes me wanna pay someone to do a conversion for me so i can give expert advice too.
alliance, with all of the trouble and money it is to bolt on a supercharger you may as well get a 3S-GTE in there. you'll pay the same higher insurance premium as the bolt on SC but the GTE will be faster.

I didnt say a turbo conversion wouldnt be better, just that the supercharger is possible on factory management.

verbatim210 -> if you want to make it go faster, try driving it quicker, that's usually the cheapest way he driver makes up a fair chunk of the performance of any car! The reason we don't answer your question straight up is because it has been answered a hundred times or more already and using the search function will have all the answers we can give you off the top of our heads and then some! Yes you can get a turbocharger and stick it on your 3S-GE, if you want more information, then have a look around Good luck!

verbatim210, the best suggestion that anyone can give you is.
sourcing out a good 3sgte engine (its the gt4, ST165) and do the engine transplant, it will give you a rathar quick boost in power.
bolting a supercharger or a turbocharger is very possibly but with great risks aswell
