you remove you old standard valve springs and install these ones,they are increase in spring pressure over the standard springs.

i sat here for 10 minutes trying to answer this question and everytime i went to type something i had to erase it and start again in fear of trying to get too technical,basically very basically,it will make your engine rev more freely and marginally quicker.also the springs are design to take larger lift cams to avoid coil bind.
end of the day,they will suit a standard motor with standard cams no worries.
read books mate,www.pitstop.com.au
they have loads of engine building type books,learn learn learn.there is alot of information out there and only a short life to absorb it all in.
