Im planning a complete stand alone computer for a 2nd gen 4agze MAP, and was wondering on some ppls opinions on what to get, and how much i should pay.
Got quoted 1395 for a wolf3d, but that seems a little steep.
Cheers

well to elaborate, the dude quoted 1395 plug and play. . .
does that mean i don't need to pay someone to tune it as well?, cause if thats the case 1395 is a good price.
Are plug and play stand alones easy to tune ??? (laptop)
Anyone know much bout microtec mtx-8 ?
Cheers

for a 4agze, I recommend Haltech E6K personally
Have seen very good results on GZE's with these. Can run stock coils etc.
Cost is $1595 plus flying lead loom.
Haltech will sell you the owners manual, and refund the cost of this if you end up buying the computer.

I'm running an MTX8 on my supra. I personally reccomend them. Cheaper thatn the others i think around $1095 and they are laptop programmable. None of them are plug and power.
Some are plug and run like the microtech and the one you are talking about if it also has base maps on it but you still need to put it on the dyno for a tune to get the best performance out of what you have just bought.
They car will run on base and you can cruise till you get it on the dyno.

I have heard that Autronic are very good for the money, does anyone here use them. They are basically priced in the middle of Microtech and Motec.
Cheers.

Lets just say i got a mtx-8, that is tuneable with a laptop
Does the initial price include software??
Will i be looking at paying someone to tune it on a laptop, if so, how much $ on top??

It moght include the software, it cost me 200 to get it but they had to remove my old eeprom and solder in the new one which is what i think i paid the 200 for.
But i also got a software protection/comms converter which you cant do without so it still might be $200.
Tuning shouldn't be more than $300 at the most. Two hours on the dyno should be fine.
