4AGE 20V power figures Wed, 08 December 2004 05:50 Go to next message
its been said many times the official power figures for the black and silver top 20Vs are exagerated, does anyone know what the real figures of these engines are? perhaps they were tested with almost no exhaust and a pure cold air feed to get the offical figures. I would like to see what people have found upon attaching them to an engine dyno.

toyota tested them with no air con, no ps, no water pump, no alternator----- basically NO engine drag.

REAL world figures, as tested on a Motec engine dyno (AFAIK)

Silvertop = 106kW
Blacktop = 108kW

Stock blacktop on an accurate engine dyno.

alright thanks guys, so 110 to 115Kw for a black top, thats pretty disapointing. Alright I have a few more questions

the "100kw" 4AGE-16 is it 100Kw? how about the 88? or is it B.S too?

Would there be much power gain throughout the rev range if the only change was for the engine was converted to a Wold 3D ECU, tuned to run on 98 RON fuel? This is assuming this is for my silver top with no other changes done other than getting rid of all the unnessesary crap like the airflow meter.

Another thing, whats the offical redline for a silvertop? is it conservative? can it be raised at all safely?
