V8 Possible gearboxes?

I was looking at Superchargers for the 1UZ today, i emailed a few places and one of them replied with the torque figure being 700nm. The stock auto wont be able to handle that obviously, what is the best option here? Any decent strong autos cna be bolted up? Any manuals that can handle this?
Kindest Regards

its not uncommon for these autos to accept 500hp+....its been done many a time...
I am gonna use an r154 behind the 302...and with a bit of luck itll survive now ive upgraded the thrust washer...

I've seen rebuild kits available in the US for the A341E auto's found in the 2JZ TT Supra and the 1UZ Soarers. The kit is designed to handle the crazy outputs that people tweak their 2JZ TT's upto. It was around US$800 from memory for the entire kit, clutches, bearings, seal, VB mods etc etc. Seems good value to me if you're up to the task of stripping down your gearbox. I've had my A341E in complete bits, it's not a terribly hard job just a bit time consuming.
I've since bought the genuine Toyoyta repair/overhual mamual for it.

Hi there mate-got your email. As for the A340 type boxes, they can be moded to handle the torque (mine is absorbing well over 700Nm now), and MV autos here in adelaide are the guys to speak to. The key to making them cope is supposed to be mods to second gear. The kits from the US have all the re-build bits-but don't have any of the required 2nd gear mods. There is machining required to the main casing of the trans and other bits and pieces involved.
Give mike a call anyway as he's the expert (and a VERY trustworthy and reputable operator). He'll be happy to have a chat and lay out all the options.
For a bit over $2000 (assuming you a install everything) you should be able to have a bulletproof trans.
Alternately, you could go the C4/powerglide trans, but that will involve belhousing mods and you won't have overdrive or converter lockup (mine still has both-great for cruising)
As I said though-mike is a good starting point and has done heaps of work on A340s and converting jap cars to other types of auto boxes (he's even done a powerglide into a GTR-I shit you not-I've actually seen it......)
