My car is running badly, in the tech section someone thought it could be the ignition module which is worn. on a Ae82 hatch twin cam.
My mechanic told me it was the radiator, which I disareeged originally, but it was cleaned any way. But now still wants to cut out in traffic.
Dont want to spend too much money, as Im going to sell the thing at the end of next year, after my uni degree.
Are there any good quality toyota mechanics/auto electric around in Sydney that anyone could recommend?

I don't know if they're still around, but Myer Brothers on the Northern Beaches used to do all the work on my RX4. They also have a good network of auto electricians

i can look at yr car for u if u want but when u say you dont want to spend too much money makes it difficult
if u go to a mechanic and say fix my car
its cutting out
and i dont want to spend too much then he will tell u to fuk off
when a car cuts out every now and then
its hard to find the fault
basically they will say u pay by the hour
if the car plays up regularly then its easier to fault find
i have access to spare ecus and ignitors and stuff to try
if you are interested then give me a call on 0415 904 947
or if u know of someone with an ae82 then just lend the ignitor or ecu for a day or so and see if it still plays up

I got charged $120 to change a fkn relay!
My st162 would take a few times to start and i knew when it would be about to start because the tacho would start wobbling up and down.

well i pressume the relay wasnt 120 bucks
what was the labour worth
i just did a job that went to 5 other people and they could not fix it
was bad connection
no parts were needed that cost the guy over 200
when u took it to mechanic did u tell him its the relay can u please change
i think not
if it was that easy u would have done it yrself
