just wanna know what the right tyre pressure is for 205/17/40 tyres on my ta22.

How long is a piece of string? It depends on the constuction of the tyres, the type of roads you drive on, your driving style, and the alignment of the planets. I'd recommend somewhere between 28 and 36psi for a low profile tyre like that... start at the lower figure and work your way up every couple of days so you can figure out what works best for you.

what i wanna know is how you can legally have 17s on a TA22? unless the laws are different in perth.

also dont they rub?

but to answer your Q, you will find that most people put bout 30-32 as an average... so basically what Norbie said would be top and bottom range
