ae92 and ae93 differences?? Fri, 10 December 2004 22:10 Go to next message
Hey, just wondering if someone could please tell me what an ae93 is? I always hear of people calling their corollas ae93's but infact they are ae92's.
I have a series 2, ae92 sx seca with 4age. When it was for sale, it was advertised as an ae93, but the compliance plate has ae92r.
Every time i look at a corolla's plate i have never seen an ae93.
Anyone have any ideas?? or knows any differences?
Tim

The VIN plate on from the AE93 SX seca i wrecked was stamped AE93, so was the firewall.

My old AE93 SX hatch was also stamped with AE93 on the firewall and VIN plate.

Apparently there were also some AE93's delivered in Aus with 7afe's too, as they're listed in the toyota parts database. I found this out the hard way when I asked for a waterpump for an AE93 corolla and ended up with a 7a pump, I went back and asked for the "other" AE93 pump and it was a 4age pump.

my 12/1990 SX hatch was an AE93. Basically if the car has a 4age and disc brakes all round in an ae9x chassis, it's an AE93.

i have an 8/91 sx seca, it's AE92. maybe the AE93 could be the rv model as it comes out with a 1.8 and only in seca? and you also can't get the hatches in 1.8.
>point for thought.
