93,000km rounded off.
There's shaft play, which I assume you would expect from 16 year old turbos. The blades don't touch the housing, so it's probably around .5mm
The turbos were working fine before I took them out.
As for what gen it is, I haven't actually looked at the colour of the ecu plug and injector plugs to tell. I'll have a look this afternoon but if you can tell from the factory boost pressure then it was 8psi.

Hydra and Jackel, must be gen2 as it has a yellow ecu plug and pale green injector tops.

Coronaturbo, it's good. Took a few hours to get the old twin turbos out. Now with the single there's heaps of room plus it weighs less.
I don't have a computer, I've got an Apexi S-AFCII and Apexi S-ITC to tune the airflow for fuel and ignition timing. ITC isn't installed yet and the SAFC still has the twinturbo map on it. So once I get them both tuned again I should see a bigger improvement.
It's not laggy, boost seems to come on earlier since all the exhaust ports fire into the one turbo. It's only set to 10psi on the external 50mm wastegate. I'm not using a boost controller rather I'm using the adjustable spring in the gate. I'm going to set it to 15psi before I get the electronics tuned as I'm pretty sure the standard injectors can handle that.

i will vouch for the good condition of these turbo's i took them out, and have been in the car with them running. they have never seen any more boost than factory and work well. the play in the shafts is very minimal , and is what can be expected from good condition sleeve bearing turbos.

No, I'm using a cut down truck intercooler. Used to be on a Nissan DR30 Skyline racecar with a worked FJ-20DET engine.
Cost around the $2.5k mark if you include the electronics aswell.
Oh, the stock 1G-GTE intercooler is for sale aswell for $60.

*Sold* Re: 1G-GTE Turbos Fri, 17 December 2004 03:53 Go to previous messageGo to next message
Turbos are now sold.
The twin turbo manifold is still for sale, make an offer + freight and it's yours.
Also have the left hand side intake pipe aswell.

Indian, I know you can convert the CT-12a turbos from the 1J to steel wheel using Toyota Starlet compressor wheels. Might be able to do it the CT-12 turbos from our 1G's. Could be a cheaper option then you could just increase boost to around 15psi safetly.

Regards,
Chris.
