HIGH all
i had a tacho converter fitted by SIXWORKS yesterday and it works perfect .This unit works on the high voltage input tachos .
So the Cressida's tacho now works compliments of a little grey box .Its easy to install and has an inbuilt test cycle to make sure you set it up right
Because a lot of factory tachos need a high voltage input the 12v units are no good for these
AND best of all it only cost $98
you can get one here sixworks@optusnet.com.au

Hello Luke,
All 1G's that I've come across already have a high voltage tacho output from the igniter so your original tacho should work.

I thought there were problems with running the 1g into the standard tacho, or do you just need it recalibrated or something along them lines?

When i fitted the 1ggze to the Celica i just had the tacho modified for a 6 cylinder input .cost about $100.
But the Cressida was FAR more difficult .
The converter That sixworks made has a pre programmed chip on board and actually modifys the original signal output voltage to suit
The Nissan boys will also be very happy

Luke,
You are correct. You will need it recalibrated for a 6 cylinder pulse. Most instrument fitters that deal with automotive gear can do it. Cost is usually between $40 and $100 depending on model of Celica.
